A home inspection should include education and communication, not just running a checklist.
I work hard at educating my customers, not just running a checklist. My motto is “It’s not just an inspection it’s an education”. While conducting the home inspection, I carry on a dialog with the customers, answering questions, explaining what things are, how they work, and how they should be operated and maintained.
I have a passion for what I do and approach every job with integrity, honesty, and objectivity. Like any good inspector I evaluate all the home’s major components and hundreds of lesser items. Checking for safety concerns, identifying costly repairs, and ensuring components are put together and operate as intended.
One way I set myself apart and take the home inspection to the next level is by looking for those pesky little things that make daily life annoying like doors that won’t latch closed or sink stoppers that won’t move. Attention to detail is at the heart of my home inspections.
By using state-of-the-art equipment I can more thoroughly investigate hard to pinpoint problems. This includes a moisture meter to search below surfaces for wetness, a combustible gas detector to pinpoint leaks in gas lines, and a digital water level that can calculate within 1/10 of an inch the slope of a floor all add to the quality of my inspections.
My home inspection reports contain high quality digital photographs along with detailed descriptions that help everyone understand what exactly the issue is. Both the home inspection report and the radon test results are e-mailed out in an easy to read PDF file often the same day, but no later than day following the inspection.
It is through education, attention to detail and quality reports that I strive to provide the best possible home inspection experience in the Belleville area.
Good luck with finding your new home and thank you for considering me as your home inspector.
Sincerely,
Mark A. Perry
