A Home Inspection Should Include Education and Communication
Not Just Running a Checklist.
I believe that a home inspection and a radon test should provide the client a thorough education on the entire process - not just running a checklist. In fact, my motto - "It's not just an inspection, it's an education", summarizes one of my key philosophies on how I conduct home inspections and radon testing.
During an inspection, I carry on a dialog with the customer answering questions, explaining what things are, how they work and how they should be operated and maintained.
I have a passion for what I do and approach every job with integrity, honesty and objectivity. Like any good inspector, I evaluate every major component of the home as well as hundreds of lesser items constantly checking for safety concerns, identifying costly repairs and ensuring everything is operating as intended.
Attention to detail is at the heart of my home inspections. One way I set myself apart and take the home inspection to the next level is by looking for those pesky little things that make daily life annoying like doors that won't latch or sink stoppers that won't move.
By using state-of-the-art equipment, I can more thoroughly investigate hard-to-find problems. This includes tools like such as an infrared camera that translates the invisible infrared spectrum into a visual format that allows otherwise hidden building defects or deficiencies to be found. A moisture meter to search below surfaces for wetness, a combustible gas detector to pinpoint leaks in gas lines and a digital water level that can calculate within 1/10 of an inch the slope of a floor.
My home inspection reports contain high-quality digital photographs along with detailed descriptions that help everyone understand the issues. Both the home inspection report and the radon test results are e-mailed out in an easy-to-read PDF file often the same day, but no later than the day following the inspection
It is through education, attention to detail and quality reports that I strive to provide the best possible home inspection experience in the Belleville area.
I want to wish you good luck on your search for a new home and thank you in advance for considering me as your home inspector and radon tester.
